What is DTF?
Direct to Film (DTF) printing is a modern method used to transfer designs onto various surfaces, such as textiles or other materials. It involves printing a design directly onto a special transfer film using a printer with specialized inks, which is then applied to the target material (like fabric or apparel) using heat and pressure.
Here’s how it works in steps:
Printing: The design is printed onto a special type of transfer film using a specialized printer and DTF ink. The printer lays down the colors on the film along with a white underbase to help the colors pop.
Powder Coating: Once the design is printed, a special adhesive powder is sprinkled onto the wet ink while it's still on the film.
Curing: The printed film is then heated in a curing oven, which melts the adhesive powder, binding the ink to the film.
Transfer: The film is placed on the target material, such as a t-shirt or fabric, and then heat-pressed to transfer the design onto the material.
